I guess after listening to shitty songs by Boston, Foreigner, Ratt, Poison, Peter Gabriel, and then finally hearing Jimi Hendrix or CCR, radio sounds pretty good. The other day, I popped in Britney Spears' first album. I had forgotten how solid that was from front to back. The focus is a great single. The single is what drives sales. The majority of the bands you listen to (or have had ruined) came from a time (or are a rare exception to current music) where the focus was on making a really good album. But I hear where you're coming from; I've been a shuffler for a long time. Since I got a new job where I can listen to my own music, I'm finally getting around to some mp3 cd's a friend made me. Shuffle is turned off, I'm listening to albums right down the line. It's great to be back. What you have described is also the problem (at least that’s my opinion) with the music industry. But I hear where you’re coming from; I’ve been a shuffler for a long time. Since I got a new job where I can listen to my own music, I’m finally getting around to some mp3 cd’s a friend made me. Shuffle is turned off, I’m listening to albums right down the line. It’s great to be back.
